FORT ANN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 17-year-old is being charged as an adult in a fatal shooting in the village of Fort Ann. The shooting took place in August on Charles Street. According to court documents, a Washington County Court judge determined the teen should be charged as an adult in criminal court based on witness accounts of the incident. Rycky Stark, Jr., 14, died in the shooting.The 17-year old was previously charged with manslaughter and reckless endangerment. One of the Rockies’ prospects has been named the top shortstop and most valuable player in the California League.Fresno Grizzlies infielder Ryan Ritter on Tuesday was announced as the winner of the awards, as voted on by the league’s managers. Ritter, who’s listed as the Rockies’ 20th-best prospect by MLB Pipeline, slashed .305/.405/.606 with 18 home runs and 58 RBIs in 65 games with the Single-A club before earning a promotion to High-A Spokane in July. (AP) — California regulators on Tuesday ordered one of the country’s oldest bottled water brands to stop using some of the natural springs it has relied on for more than 100 years to market its products throughout the western U.S.Arrowhead bottled water traces its roots to the Arrowhead Springs Hotel, which first opened in 1885 and began selling bottled spring water from its basement in 1906. But environmental and community groups say the company has never had legal permission to take water from the springs that flow out of the San Bernardino Mountains. A man has been sentenced to 13 years in federal prison for trying to bring more than 6 1/2 pounds of fentanyl through Los Angeles International Airport in 2020.Chicago resident Jermaine Eggleston, 35, was convicted in April 2022 of distributing fentanyl after LAX security officers found the narcotics in his checked duffle bag, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a Tuesday news release.On Sept. 14, 2020, his bag set off an X-ray machine for possibly containing explosives, prompting a Transportation Security Administration officer to search it."The officer opened the bag and found, inside a computer keyboard box, three parcels wrapped in tape, plastic wrap, and carbon paper," the release said. A bill that would establish a pilot program in six California cities to ticket speeding drivers with cameras instead of police is headed to Gov. Gavin Newsom's desk for approval.AB 645 proposed the five-year pilot program to give local transportation departments in the cities of San Jose, Oakland, Los Angeles, Glendale, Long Beach and the city and county of San Francisco the ability to install automated speed safety systems.
