DENVER (KDVR) — A man has been arrested for providing drugs and vapes to middle and high school-aged students in Boulder County in exchange for money and sexual acts, according to the 20th Judicial District Attorney's Office. According to the DA, Angel Gomez Rubio was arrested in Texas after returning from a trip to Mexico on 19 charges. DENVER (KDVR) -- The City and County of Denver is activating its severe weather shelter plan for overnight Thursday, Nov. 30, into Friday, Dec. 1.The shelters will be open from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The Department of Housing Stability is opening the ballroom of New Directions (the former Best Western hotel) at 4595 Quebec St. and the former Doubletree Hotel at 4040 Quebec St. for the plan. Mental health resources available in Colorado Mandy Doria, an assistant professor of Psychiatry at the Anschutz Medical Campus, says there are many possible stressors. "There might be an expectation to feel a certain way, and when those expectations aren't met, it can lead to more stress and disappointment," Doria said. People could feel overwhelmed by grief. DENVER (KDVR) -- The Christmas spirit is alive at the Colorado State Capitol where a locally harvested tree has been decorated with state pride.Gov. Jared Polis shared photos of the tree covered with ornaments and miniature Colorado state flags. These are the top songs in Denver in 2023, according to Spotify Wrapped Polis said the tree was provided by the Colorado State Forest Service Fort Collins District, and it was harvested at 8,500 feet in Larimer County on State Trust Land.The Christmas tree at the capitol was harvested as part of the forest services efforts to keep the forest healthy.
