Minnesota United to play three matches at Coachella Valley Invitational Minnesota United will play three preseason friendlies at the Coachella Valley Invitational in February at the Empire Polo Club Indio, Calif.The Loons will play Phoenix Rising, a club in the USL Championship, on Feb. 10, followed by Chicago Fire on Feb. 14 and Charlotte FC on Feb. 17. There are 12 clubs at this year’s showcase. The Loons were 0-3 in the event last season.MNUFC will open preseason in early January. Broadview distributes gifts to families in need ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The expenses of the holiday season can be difficult for a lot of families, but a local organization is helping ease the burden. Broadview Federal Credit Union distributed more than $200,000 worth of gifts during their Holiday Sharing initiative.The presents and donations are collected and distributed to thousands of people in the Capital Region. Saint Rose students protest college closure, demand answers "It just makes me super proud to know that, as an organization, that we are setting the tone to make sure that everyone has a joyful season," Chief Community Officer Kathy Lanni said. "This can be very stressful for many families who are just trying to make ends meet on a daily basis, and then you have the stress of the holiday, so we are able to say, you know what? We got ya. We got ya covered."This is the 32nd year for the program, and organizers said it's up 25 percent over last year.

LOUIS – An endangered SILVER advisory has been issued for a veteran who wandered from the VA St. Louis Healthcare System facility.According to the Department of Veterans Affairs Police Department, Bennie Wade Moore Jr. was reported missing just after 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday.Moore, who has dementia, was at the VA for an appointment. He left the facility when his caregiver momentarily stepped away. He was last seen walking northbound on Spring Avenue.Moore, 85, stands 5’8” and weighs 172 pounds. He has gray hair, brown eyes, and is wearing a Carhartt coat and blue jeans.Anyone who has seen Moore or has information on his whereabouts should immediately contact their nearest law enforcement agency by dialing 911, or call the Department of Veterans Affairs Police Department at 314-289-6326.

Disney planning to build new residential community outside of California Disney is continuing to dip its toe into the real estate development game, announcing on Wednesday it's planning a new residential community in North Carolina."Asteria" is a planned community located near Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, and is part of the company's ongoing Storyliving by Disney venture.The Asteria community is in its early planning stages, but Disney says it's being designed to "encourage exploration of the region's natural beauty and spark life-long learning."The community will be located within a 1,500-acre parcel located in Chatham County. Disney officials say it will be close to nearby cities, giving residents metropolitan amenities while maintaining its small-town charm.
