Trader Joe's cashiers have a reputation for flirting. CEO says there's a good reason

Published Wed, 05 Mar 2025 02:14:24 GMT

Did it seem like the cashier at Trader Joe's was being more than just friendly while bagging your frozen mandarin orange chicken and 19-cent bananas? The company's CEO understand why you may think that. In a recent episode on the Inside Trader Joe's podcast, CEO Bryan Palbaum addressed the rumors that employees are trained to flirt with customers and said it's just that – a rumor. But Palbaum said he understands why employees' signature chattiness "might be misinterpreted." "Well, I think we just have such a unique environment in our stores that, to go into a Trader Joe's store and feel that everyone is genuinely interested in whether or not you are having a good day, compared to maybe perhaps other retailers, I could see how that might be misinterpreted," he said. Officials provided no details of the fatality. The annual gathering in the Black Rock Desert about 110 miles (177 kilometers) north of Reno attracts nearly 80,000 artists, musicians and activists for a mix of wilderness camping and avant-garde performances. Disruptions are part of the event's recent history: Organizers had to temporarily close entrances to the festival in 2018 due to dust storms, and the event was twice canceled altogether during the pandemic. More than a half an inch (1.3 centimeters) of rain fell at the festival site on Friday, disrupting this year's festival.“We are a little bit dir...

Published Wed, 05 Mar 2025 02:14:24 GMT

You can’t win a National Championship, or even a Conference/Division title, on Labor Day weekend but in college football you can win the imagination of your fan base and the spotlight of a nation. At the same time Maryland was warming up for Towson and Virginia was facing No. 12 Tennessee, Colorado was equaling its 2022 win total by stunning No. 17 TCU 45-42 in a game where head coach Deion Sanders’ son Shedeur Sanders threw for 510 yards.
