The winner of last year's record-setting $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot has made his first major splurge.Edwin Castro, who came forward to claim the prize in February, has apparently used a chunk of that life-changing money to purchase a mansion in the Hollywood Hills.The mansion sold for a whopping $25.5 million, according to Jack Flemming of the Los Angeles Times, citing property records. Zillow lists the sale date as March 1. It's the most expensive sale in Hollywood Hills this year and one of the most expensive homes ever sold in the area, Flemming reports.The home was built in 2022 by developer Roman James, according to Dirt.com. Another atmospheric river is heading toward California, preparing to dump heavy rain and snow over the state.While rain was already falling in parts of California on Wednesday, the main event is expected to start Thursday, National Weather Service forecasters say. The heaviest rain will likely fall Thursday night into Friday, when activity will peak, but precipitation is expected to continue through the weekend. One Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Accident on Ray RoadMESA, AZ (March 8, 2023) – Friday afternoon, one rider was pronounced dead after a motorcycle crash on Sossaman Road.Dispatchers responded to the scene at the intersection of Ray and Sossaman Road on February 17th near Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.Per reports, the driver of a truck attempted to turn left onto southbound Sossaman Road and struck the motorcyclist. Upon impact, the rider was ejected from the motorcycle onto the road, causing head trauma.Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
