DENVER (KDVR) — Plant-based people with a sweet tooth are in luck. The Cake Bar, a completely vegan bakery in Capitol Hill, opens on Aug. 12. Think peanut butter mousse, vanilla buttercream, chocolate ganache icing, but all of it's plant-based. While custom and premade cakes are available, the showstopper is the handheld cakes. Police responded to an apparent robbery on Monday that left one person dead in Homestead. The Homestead Police Department swiftly responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 1 a.m., in the area of Northwest First Avenue and Ninth Street. Officers discovered an adult male victim who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds when they arrived at the scene. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted the victim to Jackson South Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.One hotel worker said around 12:30 a.m., the man that is believed to be the victim knocked on one of the doors at the establishment nearby; he was allegedly asking for a room there, but there was none available.According to preliminary findings, an unidentified person confronted the victim and demanded his belongings. TOKYO (AP) — Japan expressed concern on Monday over Iran’s advancing uranium enrichment program and the Middle East country’s suspected supplying of combat drones to Moscow for Russia’s war on Ukraine. Japan’s Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi raised the two issues during talks with his visiting Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amirabdollahian, the foreign ministry in Tokyo said.
