JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to destroy Hamas as the army prepares for an expected ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.Netanyahu delivered the threat in a nationally televised address late Friday.Israel has been pounding Gaza with airstrikes since Hamas militants carried out an unprecedented cross-border attack last Saturday, killing over 1,300 people in a brutal rampage. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A cold front will move across Central Texas during the afternoon. The first effect of the front will be an increase in gusty winds with speeds of 15 to 20+ mph expected.The second effect will be the drop in the dew points/relative humidity. Temperatures will eventually start to cool but not before reaching some upper 80s to low 90s during the mid- to late-afternoon.Clouds will be clearing during the afternoon after the front has passed. FLORISSANT, Mo. – A man has been sentenced to over 11 years in prison for robbing five businesses in the Florissant area. Kevin E. West Jr., 23, has also been ordered to pay $7,022 in damages. West pleaded guilty in June to robbery and using a gun to threaten victims. On May 26, 2021, he stole cash from two cash registers and a safe at a Dollar Tree store on North Lindbergh Boulevard. On December 1, 2021, he robbed a different Dollar Tree on New Halls Ferry Road at gunpoint and took cash from a register. Four men are being sought in connection with the fatal shooting of a person in Chatsworth early Friday.The incident was reported around 4:40 a.m. in the 20600 block of Bahama Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.Four men allegedly fired several rounds at a guard or employee, who was declared dead at the scene, police said.The assailants got away in a vehicle.It is unclear what led up to the deadly shooting, but aerial video from Sky5 showed evidence markers at the scene and a canopy set up over a car in the area. Three teens were taken into custody after they allegedly beat up a campus safety officer at Fullerton College Friday morning, then swung an ax at responding officers as they attempted to escape.At about 6:15 a.m., a Fullerton College officer found three teens "trespassing on a bench" on the campus quad next to the 200 Building, the Fullerton Police Department said in a news release. The campus officer was immediately attacked, and the teens "punched, kicked, head stomped, and eye gouged" him, police said.That officer was able to radio for help, and when his colleagues arrived, one of the teens pulled out "a tomahawk style axe from his backpack and swung it at the Safety Officers," though no one was struck, police said.One of the teens, later identified as Fullerton resident Elijah Balfe, 18, was taken into custody at the scene, but the other two escaped.FPD officers searched for the two teens who escaped, finding a 17-year-old boy at North Hornet Way and North Berkeley Avenue.
