Ultimately, voters chose Brandon Johnson who promised a smarter approach to policing coupled with investment to address the root causes of violence. “Over 90 percent of the youth gun violence victims are no longer enrolled in school at the time when they become victims, so one area that we can focus on is really directly engaging those young people,” said Roseanna Ander, executive director of the University of Chicago Crime Lab. Arlington Heights village officials provide update on Bears' development proposal ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — Newly seated and returning board members were briefed on potential developments on the horizon at the Arlington Heights Committee-of-the-Whole meeting Monday, including the possible overhaul of the Arlington Heights racetrack site by the Chicago Bears.In February, the Bears officially purchased the 326-acre property for just under $200 million. Monday night, Arlington Heights' planning and community development departments shared a comprehensive report detailing research and studies done to lay a foundation for the magnitude of the project, and what the village may have to do.On top of the presentation from planning and community development, Arlington Heights' police and fire departments also presented reports on how activity generated by the development could impact the operational capabilities of their departments. 'Unacceptable': Video of TSA worker's handling of bomb dog draws outrage (NEXSTAR) – A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employee has been removed from canine handling duties after video taken Sunday at Detroit Metro Airport circulated online.The video, taken by Reddit user ProfessionalEye3568 from the Delta Sky Club on the second level, shows the officer walking back and forth below, yanking the leash hard enough to swing the dog around."This isn’t delta specific but filmed from the sky club at DTW," ProfessionalEye3568 wrote.
