CHICAGO — “10-1” is among the most serious calls you’ll hear police make over the radio. It indicates a police officer’s life is at risk and an immediate response is needed.“Shots fired! Shots fired!” was the call over police radio as a large crowd gathered late Saturday night near the intersection of Gladys and Hoyne on the Near West Side. “Multiple shots! CEDAR LAKE, Ind. -- A helicopter crashed into a Northwestern Indiana lake Monday afternoon.According to the Federal Aviation administration (FAA), a Robinson R-22 helicopter crashed into Cedar Lake in Cedar Lake, Indiana, around 2 p.m. on Monday, June 19. She had been diagnosed with Wolf Parkinson White Syndrome, a congenital heart defect that causes episodes of rapid heartbeat, chest pain, and difficulty breathing. She spent months at the Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, undergoing successful heart ablation procedures to correct the electrical pathways in her heart.More than a decade later, she is now back at Riley, but not as a patient. (WFLA) - Tropical Depression Three, which formed midway between Africa and the Lesser Antilles Monday, has strengthened to become Tropical Storm Bret according to a 5 p.m. ET update from the National Hurricane Center.Bret, the second named storm of the season, currently has maximum sustained wind speeds near 40 mph and is expected to become a Category 1 hurricane by Wednesday night. TEXAS (KXAN) — A six-year-old Texas boy died last week after he and his father were struck by lightning in May, according to reporting from The Dallas Morning News.The father went to pick up his two sons after they were dropped off by a school bus on May 15 in Bosque County, located northwest of Waco. The six-year-old boy was holding hands with his father when the dad was struck by lightning and the current passed through both him and his son. The four women and one teenage girl who were killed when a speeding driver ran a red light Friday night in South Minneapolis have been identified by the Hennepin County Medical examiner’s office.As of Monday afternoon more than $370,000 has been raised to support the families of the five females who were killed.
