Students at NSU tear down ‘wall of hate’ as way to express themselves Some South Florida college students “destroyed hate” after a wall that was written with hurtful words was torn down.A makeshift wall at Nova Southeastern University was turned to rumble, Monday. Hours before the wall was torn down, there were violent and unsettling messages written across, what administrators dubbed, the “wall of hate.”“It’s something that we’ve done on and off for the last 20 or so years, and the purpose is very simple,” Joe Donzelli said. “We give an area and an opportunity for students, facility or staff to write down words or phrase that might have been upsetting to them, that might have hurt themselves, their families, their friends or loved ones.”The past few weeks have proven to be divisive both in South Florida and around the world as the war in the Middle East rages on. Given the circumstances, students and staff were given the opportunity at NSU to express themselves. “It’s a way to sh...
