BOSTON (AP) — A former military police officer who was convicted of multiple murders and sentenced to more than 200 years in prison for his part in a 2015 Brazilian massacre has been arrested in New Hampshire, immigration officials said. Antônio José de Abreu Vidal Filho, 29, became the subject of an active Interpol Red Notice issued by the international criminal police organization after he was convicted of 11 murders and sentenced in June to nearly 276 years in prison, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations office based in Boston said in a news release Wednesday.He was arrested Monday in Rye, New Hampshire and will remain in custody pending a hearing before a federal immigration judge. A Fort Lauderdale Police employee has been arrested after, investigators said, he shot and killed a woman in a Coral Springs home. Chase Harder, 21, was hired as a detention officer by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department in 2022. Detectives are calling the fatal shooting a domestic incident. According to officials, their investigation began around 10 p.m. Tuesday after calls about a shooting near the 9200 block of Ramblewood Drive. A Boston police officer has been suspended without pay after she allegedly stole money from a lost wallet she found while off duty at Encore Casino in Everett. Boston police told 7NEWS the incident happened on Aug. 7. The officer involved has now entered a settlement agreement for a 90-day unpaid suspension for violating department rules including “conduct unbecoming of an officer” and larceny under $250. Shuttle buses replaced service on part of the MBTA’s Green Line B branch Wednesday afternoon due to a problem with overhead wires near Boston College. The T said in a social media post around 3:30 p.m. that buses were replacing service between the Babcock Street and Boston College stations while personnel addressed the wire problem.
